Carol Stephenson: Canadian Pioneer

Carol Stephenson: Canadian Pioneer

I worked 30 years in the private sector,
primarily in telecommunications and technology.
Some of the business school students have told me that it is
great to see a female who's been a CEO, who's been a Dean,
because it does reinforce that women
can do these sorts of things.
The advice that I would have for young women is first of all,
don't say no to take on a leadership position in a job
that maybe isn't something that you thought you could do.
Get into those leadership positions, volunteer for them,
do them well, do the non-traditional ones.
Climb those mountains that you might not think are possible.
You actually will find that they're easier to climb
than you might think.
