Dr Cheryl Greenberg: Canadian Pioneer

Find out more about Women's History Month.

Dr Cheryl Greenberg: Canadian Pioneer

I worked very long hours, I took very little vacation,
I sacrificed a lot of time with family and friends but this was
the passion I had to pursue and I just thought at the time,
those were the sacrifices you have to make.
Today those barriers and obstacles for women in medicine
and science are still there, I don't deny that they are there,
but things have improved somewhat.
It's absolutely essential that we have women who have
particular feelings about patients and families.
It adds a special touch to medicine.
And if our profession has now become a little more
compassionate and nurturing, to allow both women and men
to achieve a better work-life balance,
then I think the future for women in medicine and pursuing
careers in science, will be very positive.
