Purpose: The target population of this 28-month project includes students at four post-secondary institutions in Ottawa: Ottawa University, Carleton University, La Cité Collégiale and Algonquin College. The organization will establish two bilingual steering committees; the first will carry out a safety audit and the second a public education campaign. Both committees will include students, faculty, campus security, community representatives. The project will work to establish a public awareness campaign, including a social media component, using the innovative Bystander Approach, which concentrates on the role of peers in schools, groups, teams, workplaces and other social units.
