Purpose: This 24-month project will engage key stakeholders to increase employment opportunities in the mining sector for Inuit women living in the 14 communities of Nunavik, located in Northern Quebec. In partnership with Inuit women and members of the Nunavik Mining Sustainable Employment and Training Strategy Table (which includes mining companies), the project will develop and implement a mining sector employment action plan for Inuit women in Nunavik. The action plan and its implementation strategies will be shared with other Inuit and First Nation communities in Canada interested in adapting them to their communities.
