Purpose: | This 36-month project will promote the recruitment, retention and promotion of women, particularly immigrant women, in the industrial metal production sector in Montreal. The project will engage representatives from key areas, including business, education and organizations promoting womens advancement and retention in non-traditional trades, and strategic alliances will be developed with employers and sector stakeholders. Issues, priorities, needs and views of local women, sector players, employers and training partners will be identified through a needs assessment with a gender lens, including a specific study of womens roles in the sector. A joint action plan, including a sustainability component, will be developed and piloted. |
