Location: | Toronto, Ontario |
Date: | 2017-03-06 |
Value: | $248,487.00 |
Type: | Grant |
Purpose: | This 36 month project will seek to improve the economic security of racialized immigrant and refugee women by addressing barriers to stable employment and workplace advancement. Through the project, employers and policy makers will increase their understanding of the precarious labour conditions which affect women, and key policy reforms to address the need for stable employment, affordable child care, fair wages and benefits, fair employment practices and equality rights at work will be identified. Grassroots women leaders with lived experiences of precarious employment will engage in community dialogues with broader networks representing labour, civil society, and womens movements, encouraging these larger movements to support and help advance the projects recommendations. Tools and resources will be developed and shared to support longer term engagement in policy dialogue with community sector leaders and key government stakeholders. |
