Introduction to GBA+
The History of GBA+ - Domestic and International Milestones
Making Commitments (1970 - 1995)
The Government of Canada began making commitments to consider women (and “women’s issues”) when making policy decisions in the 1970s.
Indeed, the women's movement made fundamental contributions to the understanding and use of GBA+ and continues to influence its adoption.
Over time, the focus has shifted from a strictly women-centered view to one that focuses on how programs and policies affect various groups of people differently due to gender and other diverse factors.
