Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: REGROUPEMENT DES FEMMES DE LA CÔTE-NORD
Location: Baie-Comeau, Quebec
Date: 2007-03-30
Value: $75,150.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: The Regroupement des femmes de la Côte-Nord (RFCN) is proposing that an organizing committee made up of five women, including one Aboriginal woman, prepare a situational assessment of violence against women on the North Shore and encourage concrete, concerted action to reduce the rate of violence. By the end of the project, 1000 women will have consulted the new trilingual (French, English and Innu) web site, which will provide information on domestic abuse and the services available in the region. The strategy to this end will take concrete shape through three regional meetings for women’s organizations, women themselves and partners in the region. It should be noted that an average of 50 women, including 10 Aboriginal women from 10 different reserves and 10 Anglophones, will be participating in these meetings along with 12 key partners.
