Purpose: | Changing Together will partner with the Edmonton Womens Shelter to establish a shelter specifically dedicated to immigrant and refugee women who are victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. The Edmonton Womens Shelter will be responsible for the overall management of the shelter, while Changing Together will be responsible for the design and implementation of culturally specific programming including outreach services, workshops, a peer mentoring program and liaison with key stakeholders in law enforcement, social services and immigration services. The shelter will be the first of its kind in Canada to offer specifically tailored services and programs for immigrant and refugee women victims of violence or trafficking. |
