Purpose: During this 18-month project, criminalized women will learn dispute resolution and communication skills, which will enable them to solve problems and access needed services from government and non-government organizations. The women will have an opportunity to demonstrate leadership and become peer mentors. They will also have the opportunity to participate in public and professional education and awareness information sessions on topics such as: ongoing access to legal resources and education on rights and responsibilities regarding criminal law, prison law, family law and health legislation and regulations, in collaboration with criminalized and imprisoned women and justice-seeking Aboriginal groups and individuals.
