|Purpose: ||This 24-month project will develop/adapt innovative programs and other supports to increase growth opportunities for women owners of small and medium-sized businesses, including immigrant and Aboriginal women. A gender-based analysis of programming and planning will assist participants in their efforts to ensure that business development programs and other supports respond to the specific needs of women entrepreneurs, including those from immigrant and Aboriginal communities. This project will explore practical ways to address and overcome these and other barriers to success for women business owners.
This project will promote the creation of partnerships between entrepreneurs, their community and economic decision makers. In particular, it will target Aboriginal entrepreneurs (Cree, Inuit and Innu) in Northern Quebec, immigrant entrepreneurs in the Montréal area, and entrepreneurs in regions experiencing economic difficulties such as the North Shore, Gaspé, Îles de la Madeleine and the Lower St. Lawrence.
