Purpose: This 36 month project focuses on various forms of violence facing girls transitioning from primary to secondary schools in Montréal. The objective of the project is to strengthen girls’ abilities to recognize and respond to gendered violence and related issues during the transition to high school. Activities will primarily target girls who are of diverse cultural origins. A high school-based mentorship pilot project for girls is also planned, along with outreach to schools, and the development of a model and tools. Training for school personnel will be developed to facilitate the adaptation of the program for use with both boys and girls.
