Purpose: This 18-month project will increase the leadership skills of senior and young women in rural areas of western Nova Scotia. Through workshops employing experiential adult learning models and mentoring approaches, women will develop the skills to take on community leadership roles. As a part of the curriculum, women will be trained on how to apply gender based analsyis to decision-making processes. These workshops will prepare women to participate in local decision-making bodies such as government consultations, municipal council meetings, and provincial boards and commissions.
