Purpose: This 36-month-project will address the challenges and barriers that limit community efforts in Saguenay, Quebec to deal with violence against Aboriginal women and girls. The project will engage Aboriginal women and community stakeholders in the development of a community plan to address issues of violence against women in the region. An environmental scan will inform the development of the plan by examining the realities facing Aboriginal women and girls in the region, and violence-reduction strategies in other small urban communities across Canada.
