Purpose: | This 36-month project will provide tools and support to Aboriginal women and girls who have experienced violence living in Wabamun, Stony Plain, and Edmonton in Alberta. The project will establish a focus group of community stakeholders in order to understand the nature of violence against Aboriginal women in the area and how to best respond. On the basis of these consultations the Society will develop a community action plan that identifies support services that require development in order to reduce and address issues of gender-based violence. |
