Purpose: This 36-month project aims to overcome institutional barriers and other factors that limit community efforts to address violence against women and girls, including sexual assault, in rural communities and small urban centres. The project will create partnerships and strengthen co-operation among community stakeholders (women, governments, community agencies, service providers, etc.) for identifying and addressing the needs of women and girls. The community plan will involve anglophone, francophone and aboriginal women who have been victims of sexual assault in the Kent region of New Brunswick.
