Purpose: This 36 month project will develop and implement a community plan to address the high incidence of violence against women in the communities of La Ronge, Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Swift Current, Melfort, and Kindersley. A community action plan will be developed for each of the six communities in collaboration with community stakeholders such as local service providers, community leaders, schools, Aboriginal service organizations, and shelters. The plan will be informed by a gender-based analysis, a literature review identifying promising practices, and interviews with women and girls. The plan will also tie into provincial anti-violence community plans.
