Purpose: | This 36 month project will work with women and girls on Hornby Island, B.C to address gender based violence. Educational workshops and focus groups will be held to identify specific factors contributing to gender based violence in the community. Using the information from this needs assessment, formal protocols will be developed to enhance coordination of service provision between emergency and health service providers both on and off island. Community members and stakeholders will be consulted to evaluate resulting changes in the community. |
