Purpose: | This 24 month project will target young women in the 14 communities of the Upper Skeena region of British Columbia who are or who have experienced living in poverty. An assessment of existing services, policies, and programs that impact young womens economic security will be carried out to identify gaps and barriers. This analysis will guide the creation of an accessible and culturally relevant community plan that engages community stakeholders. The project will identify and co-ordinate a strategy to address diverse challenges stemming from economic inequality including gender based violence, substance abuse and inadequate housing. |
