Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards
|Recipient Name:||Georgian Bay Native Womens Association|
|Purpose:||This 24 month project will build partnerships between stakeholders and First Nation, Métis and non-status girls and young women under the age of 25 living in communities in the area of Midland, Ontario to respond to the specific barriers that Aboriginal girls and women face in participating in civic, political and community life. Girls and young women will help identify the issues affecting their participation and expand their understanding of these issues. Activities include observing local First Nations and Municipal governments in action; and leadership training to prepare participants to deliver girl-led projects that will engage local decision-makers in addressing the barriers identified in the project.|
