Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards
|Recipient Name:||Edmonton Multicultural Coalition Association|
|Purpose:||This 24 month project will target girls and young women aged 14-25 from African and South American ethno-cultural communities in Edmonton. The project will examine the challenges these girls and young women face in fitting-in with mainstream Canadian culture and pursuing leadership roles. It will review how they can be supported to engage in civic matters in an environment where they lack access to information on available resources, and are negotiating gender roles and expectations within the family and the community.|
