|Purpose:||This 24 month project will build partnerships and collaboration between individuals, communities and stakeholders to identify and respond to the specific barriers that Aboriginal girls and women face in fulfilling their economic potential. The project will work with urban First Nations and Métis young women, as well as Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young women aged 19 to 24 with multiple barriers in Kamloops, British Columbia. Participants will receive leadership training and mentoring support from both peers and women in leadership positions. Engagement sessions with community stakeholders will be held to identify the issues affecting womens economic prosperity. Young women will lead initiatives in their communities to address these issues and promote girls and young womens economic prosperity to community members.|
