Purpose: This 24-month project will engage immigrant men and boys from diverse ethno-cultural communities to identify and respond to issues of gender-based violence in the Moncton area. This bilingual project will address stereotypes and cultural barriers, identify resources, promising approaches and engagement models that will be adapted to meet the community needs. Adult facilitators from the immigrant community will be trained to work with their peers to enable collaborative action to address issues of violence against women in immigrant populations. Boys will also be engaged to take action in their schools through age-appropriate activities.
