Purpose: This 24-month project will engage women from official language minority communities (Francophones) who are active in the labour market, as well as community partners, to create community strategies empowering women to access a broader range of economic opportunities in Alberta (Grande-Prairie, Bonnyville, Edmonton and Calgary), in New Brunswick (Dieppe, Tracadie-Sheila, Barthurst, Miramichi, Caraquet and Shipaggan) and in Ontario (Toronto). A gender-based analysis will be used to assess economic assets and opportunities for women in these regions, to identify their needs and challenges, to find solutions suited to their communities and to pilot a strategy to respond to identified needs.
