|Recipient Name:||Women In Resource Development Corporation|
|Location:||St. Johns, Newfoundland|
|Purpose:||This 36-month project will work to improve economic opportunities for women in the building trades in Newfoundland and Labrador. Women and relevant stakeholders including industry, unions, and government will be engaged in the development of a sector plan to identify priorities, address needs, and create sustainable opportunities to support the advancement of women in the sector. Strategies will be developed and implemented to address known barriers, such as the need to provide support to women transitioning from education to employment. Best practices will be identified and shared to encourage stakeholders to take action to increase the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in non-traditional occupations in the construction sector.|
