Purpose: This 24-month project will address the institutional barriers and other factors that limit economic opportunities for women caregivers in Edmonton, Alberta who are providing care for family members who are either ill, aging, or have a disability. Through the project, tools, training and/or policy recommendations will be developed to address the challenges and barriers of women caregivers. These resources will be pilot-tested with employers to assist them in adopting supportive and inclusive work environments. Findings and recommendations of the project will be shared with human resource professionals, employee assistance programs, and employment recruiters across Alberta.
