Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Assaut Sexuel Secours (Val-d’Or) Inc.
Location: Val d’Or, Quebec
Date: 2014-03-05
Value: $155,971.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 24-month project will improve the ability of community service providers in Vallée-de-l'Or, Abitibi, to prevent sexual violence against women. The project will identify the institutional barriers that limit the ability of stakeholders to respond to the needs of victims of sexual violence who are living in poverty, as well as the specific needs of Aboriginal women living on the Lac-Simon and Kitcisakik reserves. The creation of a local roundtable on violence against women will provide a forum for disseminating and testing promising practices and will support collaboration between key stakeholders representing community services and the Aboriginal community. A formal framework for sharing project learnings and facilitate networking between stakeholders will be developed.
Comments: Multi-year project
