Purpose: This 24-month project will build collaboration between community service providers to prevent and respond to sexual violence against women and girls in the Avalon region of Newfoundland. Community partners and stakeholders will identify and address barriers that limit their efforts to respond to the needs of women and girl victims of sexual violence. A regional coordinating committee will be established, which will oversee the creation of “Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Networks” in communities across the region. Through the Network, promising practices for responding to sexual violence will be shared, developed, implemented, and disseminated in order to improve access to support services for women and girls.
