Purpose: This 36-month project will work to increase the safety of women victims of domestic violence and their children in 16 administrative regions of Quebec. Risk assessment tools used by Quebec City’s police services will be adapted for use by regional stakeholders, such as social workers and shelters, to improve the coordination of prevention and response services for women victims of domestic violence. A risk assessment monitoring system, cross-sector intervention tools and regional protocols will be implemented and piloted in two regions. Best practices and pilot project results will be shared with other regions in Quebec and communities of practice will be developed to support the implementation of the project across the province.
