Purpose: This 36-month project will prevent and reduce violence against women by working to improve public safety in the Main Street area of Winnipeg. Women, men, and community partners will be engaged, a needs assessment will be conducted, and an action plan will be created. Strategies identified will be implemented to improve safety and decrease violence on and around Main Street. The project findings and results will be disseminated in local neighbourhood forums, and partnerships will continue to address violence in the area beyond the project.
