Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Equal Voice
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Date: 2016-10-17
Value: $1,000,000.00
Type: Contribution
Purpose: This 36-month project aims to address some of the key systemic barriers that contribute to the under-representation of women in politics at the provincial, territorial, and federal levels in Canada. The project will support efforts to increase and strengthen the representation of women in our democratic systems by engaging with key stakeholders to bring concrete changes (e.g. to the mechanics of how legislatures / councils function) to provincial, territorial, and federal legislatures. Strategic partnerships, networks and champions at all levels of government will be leveraged to create enabling environments to address systemic barriers to women’s under-representation. The project will also produce a report, Blueprint for Gender Parity, to support other decision makers and community groups in creating more inclusive legislatures / councils.
Comments: Multi-year project.
