Purpose: This 36-month project will seek to develop the leadership capacity of Upper St'at'imc Nation women in British Columbia to collaborate with the RCMP and Tribal Police in developing a coordinated service response strategy to violence and abuse. Indigenous women and key stakeholders will come together to review factors that contribute to violence and abuse against women in communities of the Upper St'at'imc Nation and develop and implement a culturally-appropriate community-level strategic action plan. Through workshops and resources, the organization will also support Indigenous women to build their individual knowledge with tools for promoting change and taking action on violence against women in their communities.
