Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland
Date: 2017-03-06
Value: $334,000.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 36-month project will seek to increase opportunities for women-owned businesses in government and local industry procurement processes in Newfoundland and Labrador. The project will seek to broaden the application of the provincial Gender Equity and Diversity Plan to the province’s own procurement activities as well as to the industry sector. Through consultations and stakeholder engagement, the barriers and benefits of a broadened application process will be examined, and an action plan will be developed and implemented to ensure more inclusive policies and procedures for women entrepreneurs. The project will increase access, exposure, and growth for women-owned businesses, introducing them to new markets. Project results will be shared with organizations across Canada to further economic growth for women entrepreneurs.
