Purpose: This 36-month project will address barriers to accessible, affordable, and inclusive childcare for low-income women in Saint John, New Brunswick. Through collaboration with partners and stakeholders, strategies will be developed and implemented to increase women’s full and active economic presence through greater labour force participation. The project will address the qualifying criteria for access to daycare subsidies, accessibility of childcare for special needs children, and availability of child care provision for women who work outside of normal business hours. Project results will be shared with regional organizations to increase sustainability and impact for women’s increased participation in the labour force.
