| Purpose: | This 36-month project will seek to increase women’s representation in political leadership at all levels of government and school boards in Northwestern Ontario. An advisory committee will be established to guide a needs assessment of issues specific to the region that prevent women from actively engaging in democratic processes. Partners, communities, and stakeholders will then identify opportunities and implement recommendations to address barriers and inform a community engagement strategy to increase women’s democratic participation. The organization will also engage with key political organizations and community forums throughout the region in order to increase public engagement to support the recommendations and take action to increase women’s political participation. |
