| Purpose: | This 36-month project will support women’s political and democratic participation in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. The project will examine barriers impeding women’s political participation in municipal politics and make recommendations to be shared with municipal stakeholders across the province. In parallel, regional equity committees will be formed to identify promising practices to increase women's democratic participation in regional organizations through the development and dissemination of equity policies and plans. The project results will be disseminated within provincial umbrella organizations to encourage similar initiatives elsewhere in the province. |
